LaVar Walker – BROADWAY ROOM

After winning the 2012 national Miller Lite Stand-Up comedy competition judged by Kevin Hart, comedian/writer LaVar Walker joined The Shaquille O’Neal All Star Comedy Jam, touring 42 markets and taping a Showtime special as well. In addition to this, he was a finalist for the NBC Diversity Showcase and advanced to the semifinals in NBC’s Last Comic Standing. His other credits include BET’s Comicview, The Mo’Nique Show, and Kevin Hart’s comedy special on the Laugh Out Loud network. On the scripted front, he produced/ played the lead in the comedy project, The Pharmacist, and can recently be seen as ‘Marty the Manager’ in the Summit Entertainment Feature Film, Uncle Drew. Walker was born on the southside of Chicago and earned a doctoral degree in pharmacy from Xavier University in New Orleans. Despite his string of successes and growing popularity, LaVar remains humble. He told the Chicago Sun-Times that he just wants to be happy in what he is doing. “To be honest with you, I just want to be happy doing what I do and make a great living doing it. Does that sound crazy? If you get right down to it,” he says, “looking back on everything I’ve done to this point, I think I made it. I’m the biggest star in the world to me.” Sun-Times reporter Mike Thomas called this attitude: “Pretty sane actually.”

Daryl Chill MItchell – What Had Happened Was Tour

Daryl Chill Mitchell first came to public attention as a member of the three-man rap group Groove B. Chill. The first appeared in the feature film “House Party” in 1990, where Mitchell had the opportunity to work alongside Martin Lawrence,Tisha Campbell and other prominent actors. He found the experience so enjoyable that he decided to turn his focus from music to a full-time acting career.  In November 2001, Mitchell was sidelined by a motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down; however, it never halted his forward momentum. Once he was in control of his wheelchair, Mitchell went back to work and signed on as a series regular for the role of Eli on the series “Ed,” a role which became the basis for the pilot titled “Eli.” Eli’s character gave Mitchell one of his favorite phrases, “Roll or fold,” which encompasses his take on life.

Mike shares his experience on taking the leap into comedy and growing his career while balancing being a father and husband to guest Alisha Shoates James. In his career so far Christian has had the pleasure of working with some of the biggest names in comedy such as Ali Siddiq, Eddie Griffin, Damon Wayans, Damon Wayans Jr., Marlon Wayans, Sinbad and many more. In 2021 Christian made his television debut on AFROTV’s “Funny Not Famous” and in May of the following year Christian was named a finalist in the Kenan Thompson ultimate comedy experience showcase. With over 500,000 followers on his social media platforms Christian Johnson is a rising star with contagious good energy, a unique style, and refreshing clean comedy.

Karen Mills

Karen Mills has been a nationally touring comedian for over twenty-five years. She can be heard daily on SiriusXM comedy channels and clips from her comedy special “Pink Pants” have gotten over 21 million views. Karen appeared on Season 12 of America’s Got Talent and has had numerous appearances on The Grand Ole Opry.   She is currently touring theaters across the country with Leanne Morgan. Karen and Leanne have worked together since 2004 when they first met doing the Southern Fried Chicks comedy tour.  ​ Karen has spent a lifetime entertaining. First as a point guard, “Little Mills” was always a crowd favorite. She started playing basketball in the 3rd grade and eventually earned a full scholarship to the University of Tennessee @ Chattanooga. In 1981, Karen led the nation in assists and became the first Division 1, first-team All American in UT-Chattanooga’s history, male or female.  Her #12 uniform was retired and in 1981 she became the first women inducted into Chattanooga’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
